ABOUT
With his hand firmly in the worlds of both classical and electronic music, Dionysian is the creation of artist Reductio. Combining the concepts of Greek mythology and Nietzsche's philosophy, the Dionysian brand establishes a musical platform 'of many forms'.

Having studied classics at Cambridge concurrently with an organ scholarship, the idea of the hybrid of the contemporary and the classical was conceived. Matt began producing electronic music and DJing in venues around the city in his second year whilst simultaneously playing the organ and conducting the Charter Choir, and it is this unique combination which provided the paradoxical foundation for Dionysian.

In Greek mythology Dionysus was part of the mortal and the divine realm, and the god of wine and parties. For Nietzsche he signified 'the eternal enigmas of duality and paradox'. Building upon these ideas, Dionysian's vision is to propel musical creation forward in both the contemporary and classical realm, creating a platform that champions both these worlds of music.
The philosophical essays discuss the ideas that entitle the classical side of the musical releases, providing a depth to the Dionysian brand and explicating what it represents. Dionysian is not just a name, it is a way of life.
